Adult Stars Raise $18,500 for Abandoned Kids

MALIBU, Calif. — Four adult starlets planned and hosted a successful fundraiser and auction last night to benefit a charity for abandoned children, raising more than $18,500 in merely 48 hours.

Brooke Haven, Sunny Leone, Casey Parker and Veronica Rayne worked together to seek donations to benefit Project Cuddle — an organization that rescues babies abandoned by troubled women — and counted on members of the adult industry for support.

Haven told XBIZ that she was elated to see the industry band together for the cause, one of the many positive things she feels sets adult apart from mainstream.

“To see Ron [Jeremy] here, XBIZ, [industry makeup artist] Lisa Sloane performing — we all support each other,” Haven said. “We have to. Taking part of something so mainstream could have been a raised eyebrow, but they still came. I’m so happy to see everyone here.”

Each star was in charge of a particular element of the fundraiser. Haven ordered catering and booked the entertainment, which included Sloane’s band Feral Vinca and VH1 Soul Artist Nya Jade; Leone set up the raffle and was in charge of PR; Parker collected items for and hosted the auction; and Rayne acted as team leader.

Up for auction was a lifetime supply of porn DVDs, original art made by Leone — the first piece she’s ever sold to the public — and Parker’s first surfboard, which was auctioned for more than $350 with a lesson from the surfer babe included.

Top industry donors were Shane’s World, which offered $2,500, and Tony Morgan of NationalNet, who donated a whopping $5,000. Leone said it costs an average of $2,500 to rescue one baby, and the industry’s support will make a big difference for a lot of young lives.

Project Cuddle board member Gary Eisenberger told XBIZ that when the idea to have adult performers hold a two-day fundraiser for the charity first arose, he knew it was a perfect fit.

“We didn’t even hesitate,” Eisenberger said. “Not at all.”

Eisenberger said that the charity’s message appeared to touch the girls’ hearts, and though the event wasn’t packed, he said this was the kind of crowd he’d rather see.

“I prefer this size of event,” he said. “These people are here because they want to. They all care, and are extremely supportive. The girls have done an amazing job.”

Eisenberger said 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Project Cuddle and will be used to produce and distribute educational materials to schools and hospitals, and to fund counseling and other support methods for troubled mothers in need.
